Every now and again a quick bit of TLC will give your grass the facelift it needs to keep it looking fresh and not tired and worn out. It can take as little as 15 minutes! (If your lawn is huge, well maybe a bit longer!)
If in doubt, spread it out! Fertilising your lawn with a slow release granular fertiliser like Lawn Solutions Premium Fertiliser is a quick and easy way to help your lawn thrive. In as little as 15-minutes you can spread it across your lawn and turn on the irrigation/sprinkler or hose it in. For 15-minutes work, your lawn will get lasting results for up to 12 weeks. If your lawn is in stress and needs a quick boost of nutrient you can utilise a product called Lawn Rescue. Lawn Rescue features both nutrient and rehydration properties, which also makes it the perfect solution for tired, slow-growing lawns. Lawn Rescue contains a blend of liquid fertilisers, seaweed extracts and wetting agents and is ideal for all new and established lawns.
If your lawn has lost some colour and vigour from the heat, a good option is ColourGuard Plus. It’s a natural pigment with a liquid fertiliser and it’s a great solution during dry conditions to keep your grass green and to save water at the same time.
ColourGuard Plus will be absorbed into the leaf as a natural pigment and is ideal if your lawn has slowed in growth due to extreme heat and has lost some colour.
It’s amazing how well your grass will recover after a good deep soaking. If you are lucky enough the rain will come just when your lawn needs it, but if it doesn’t, and water restrictions permit, give your lawn the water it is craving. Doing this deeply and less frequently will lead to a more drought tolerant lawn saving you time and water. Water not absorbing well and pooling on the soil surface? A good aerate, along with the application of a wetting agent like Lawn Soaker can help your lawn absorb water and use it more efficiently when its available.
If you have some weeds occurring in your lawn, best thing to do is act straight away before it gets out of control. A quick 15-minute walk around every couple of weeks to remove any weeds that you see by hand, will make all the difference and save you hours of spraying and promoting lawn growth to help it repair. If the weeds are a bit beyond hand weeding you can look at applying a broadleaf herbicide like All Purpose Weed Control to get on top of things quicker.
